IINU will hold an international joint lecture “Urban Studies in Post-Pandemic Era” with Vietnam-Japan University online in Term A2.

We hope that many students will attend!

 

Aims and Scope

  • The lecture is held as a part of activities by International Institute for Next Urban Planning, Design and Management at UT in conjunction with Vietnam-Japan University.
  • This is an introductory lecture about possible future cities, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • The lecture introduces and discusses about how and what cities would change after the pandemic, mainly in terms of:
    1. Climate Change and Natural Disaster,
    2. Economics of Urban Agglomeration and Remotization, and
    3. Possible Future Urban Policies.

 

Participants

  • Students of UT (mainly from Civil, Architecture and Urban Dept.)
  • Students of VJU (Vietnam-Japan University, mainly from MIE, MCC, MEE and MPP)

 

Time for the Class

  • Total 7 lectures (online).
  • 18:45-20:30 in Japan Standard Time (16:45-18:30 in Vietnam Standard Time)

 

Evaluation

  • Group presentation results and individual report assignment for each part.

 

Course Registration: By December 12, 2021

 

Credit: Only for UT Students about course registration

  • One credit will be given to UT students.
  • The students in Dept. of Civil Engineering may register to “Advanced Topics in Civil Engineering VI”.
  • The students in Dept. of Urban Engineering may register to “Environmental Field Exercise I (E) (3716-132)”.
  • The students in other departments (including the students in Dept. of Architecture may register to either of these two courses.
